Greetings students and families! I hope you all have been enjoying your summer vacation and have taken time to share some great experiences with family and friends. Although this is the beginning of the welcome back to the school year, there is still plenty of time for you all to enjoy the wonderful August weather that Wisconsin brings us. As we prepare for students to return to school we will continue to put out reminders as to upcoming events. I encourage you all to visit our website, monitor social media posts and make sure you receive the “remind” app notifications. These tools all seem to be great ways to stay connected with school and family.
First up will be our annual registration days. These will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 2 and Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Our middle school orientation for 6th grade students and any new middle school students will be on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 6-7 p.m. in the high school gym. The first day for students will be on Tuesday, Aug. 23. On Wednesday, Aug. 24 we will be taking student pictures for middle and high school students so please plan accordingly for what you would like your child to wear that day. Another important thing to remember is that there will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, August 26th. Everyone gets to enjoy an extra long weekend and our annual Cornfest celebrations!
Fall sports practices will begin soon. Football practices begin on Tuesday, Aug. 2 with volleyball and cross country beginning on Monday, Aug. 15th. Middle school football and cross country begin on Monday, Aug. 15 and MS volleyball begins on Monday, Aug. 22. Please make sure that players have registered and have all the required paperwork completed to include a physical or alternate year card so they can practice when their season begins. We are looking forward to another great year of successful seasons.
As always, we are excited to get the students back into the building and begin another great school year. There have been many things happening over the summer to get our halls and classrooms ready for students and we truly do appreciate all the work our team at school puts in to make this happen. We have a great facility and are excited to show off some of the new updates when the school year begins.
Lastly, as I have enjoyed my time this summer with family and friends, August always brings a sense of anticipation and excitement to the beginning of a new school year. Those “back to school” messages continue to remind us that there is still time to enjoy the long days of summer. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions as you prepare for the first few days of school. Take care everyone!
